The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I've been living in Germany since leaving Penn State, and am very happy here. I work in human resources development, developing, implementing and measuring learning programs for professional employees of FedEx Express in Europe, the Middle East and India. In the past 4 years I've made 2 lengthy trips to South America. In 2005 I spent 4 weeks backpacking through Chilean Patagonia, and this year I've spent another 4 weeks studying Spanish language and contemporary Latin American literature in Buenos Aires. My hobbies include running, long-distance biking, writing fiction, and keeping up with American fiction. (I think the United States is producing some of the best authors and novels there are right now.) I keep up my interest in German culture and literature studies through membership in the Freies Deutsches Hochstift, one of the country's oldest art and literature research institutions. My goals for the next year or so include getting a short story published (Somewhere... Somehow...), and establishing an online community for people interested in reading and sharing ideas about good contemporary writing. I'd enjoy hearing from anyone and everyone I knew at Penn State.
